Don’t Hurt Yourself Wrapping Christmas Gifts!

As I’ve been chit-chatting with the patients of my Monroeville Chiropractor office, and looking today at the calendar, I’ve been reminded of one big piece of advice that I typically give to all around Christmas.

Do not wrap your gifts while sitting on the floor!

As I explain to the patients of my Penn Hills Chiropractor office, sitting on the floor for too long and leaning over wrapping those gifts for a couple hours can put great strain on your legs, your low back, your upper back, and your neck. Sitting there for too long will lead to cramps and achiness, but this discomfort is easily avoidable.

Simply wrap your gifts on a table! Set up a “wrapping station” on a dining room or kitchen table. Better yet, set up a little folding card table and do the same. Either way, you’ll avoid that sitting in a cramped and leaning position. Also too, remember to move; meaning, walk around the table to the other side to do things that are out of reach instead of leaning and contorting yourself.

Doing this one simple and easy thing will save you from a lot of aches and discomforts this Holiday Season!
